  • Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Those of us who manage the public dollars will be held to account to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day, because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and our government.

Election Laws Be Damned!

Despite that US election laws forbid foreign campaign donations, as well as the fact that the Obama campaign is currently under investigation for accepting such donations, the pleas to foreigners outside of the US continue.

Here is one such plea:

“Howard — The next 6 days are going to be the toughest we’ve seen, and I need your support to reach as many voters as possible. Donate $5 or more today to strengthen this movement for the final push. This campaign is in your hands. Thank you for everything you’re doing – Barack”

If Obama is incapable of running a clean campaign, how much confidence should the electorate have for him to run a clean administration? I know, rhetorical question, and one that I hope we won’t have to ask.
