  • Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Those of us who manage the public dollars will be held to account to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day, because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and our government.

TOM DASCHLE ON TAXES

Turbo Tax Tim

Maybe conventional wisdom is wrong, and a contrarian view is needed on the Geithner nomination. In fact, I’ll even go so far as to defend him. After all, if it’s good enough for Schmuck Schumer to defend Geithner, it’s good enough for me.

Given his past history of tax payments, perhaps he was merely protesting against our progressive tax structure, and if confirmed as Treasury Secretary,  he would lobby BHO and Congress to implement a more equitable and simplified tax system.

Never let it be said that I don’t believe in Hope and Change.

(in case it’s not apparent, this is post is a combination of satire, sarcasm, and delusional wishful thinking)
