  • Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

    Ronald Reagan

When the government's boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right boot is of no consequence.

    Gary Lloyd

We have a system that increasingly taxes and subsidizes nonwork.

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money

    Alexis de Tocqueville

Those of us who manage the public dollars will be held to account to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day, because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and our government.

    Barack Hussein Obama, 1/20/09

My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it.

Something New

Since we’re now back, we’re going to start doing something a little different.  Each weekday, and maybe sometimes on the weekend, we will post a summary, in 6 words, of some of the news events of the day.  Sometimes, they will be serious news items, and sometimes — like today — they won’t be.

So, here is a 6-word summary for today, Monday, November 19, 2012 — Flirty Obama, Homeboy Biden, Orgasmic Matthews!

Stay tuned for weekday 6-word summaries!

Biden fires up his gaffe machine

Joe Biden, a native of Scranton, PA*,  has already fired up the brand-spanking new Vice-Presidential Gaffe Machine.

At a swearing-in ceremony for senior White House staff, he said:

“My memory isn’t as good as Chief Justice Roberts” (sic)

BHO was clearly not amused.

Note to Joe Biden: you’re not a Legislator anymore; you’re an Executive. It’s not wise to piss off your boss the first day on the job.

*during the campaign, whenever Joe Biden was mentioned, it was immediately followed by “a native of Scranton” (or a variation of this). From now on, whenever I mention him here, I will duly note this)

Move Over Dan Quayle

The Biden’s are  in town, and it won’t be long before Joe surpasses Dan “I love California. I practically grew up in PhoenixQuayle for the most faux pas’ of a Vice President.

And it looks like we’ll even get a bonus; Jill Biden is starting to look like she’ll need to be muzzled as much as her husband.
