  • Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

    Ronald Reagan

    ---

When the government's boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right boot is of no consequence.

    Gary Lloyd

We have a system that increasingly taxes and subsidizes nonwork.

    Milton Friedman

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money

    Alexis de Tocqueville

    ---

Those of us who manage the public dollars will be held to account to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day, because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and our government.

    Barack Hussein Obama, 1/20/09

    ---

My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it.

“And the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open, and most ethical Congress in history”

    Nancy Pelosi, Election Night 2006

The RNC continues it’s course of alienating conservatives

The Republicans deservedly got their asses kicked in 2006 and 2008. And then, they elected Michael Steele to head the RNC…

With the Dems going full speed ahead with their slash and burn policies against taxpayers and Capitalism, it would seem that a Republican takeover of the Legislative branch is a potential reality in 2010. However, Michael Steele, rather than showing leadership, opted to use words like “incendiary” and “ugly” when discussing Rush Limbaugh on a recent CNN program, further alienating many more conservatives.

I’m not a total dittohead; in fact. I disagree with Rush 100% in his view of 2 of the Big 3 automakers deserving a bailout, as well as on several other issues. However, he at least has core conservative values, which is more than could be said for many Republicans in the limelight, be they politicians, presidential candidates, or RNC chairmen.

Michael Steele started out with his new beginning-type  spiel, but it looks like it will be more RINOism.

That changeover to the Libertarian party is getting closer to reality for me, and very well could cause even MORE conservatives to abandon the Republicans. And the way things look now, that isn’t a bad thing….
