For years, conservatives have bemoaned the liberal media bias that is so pervasive. Websites dedicated to exposing the bias, conservative forums, and the Blogosphere have brought this issue to the forefront, and it looks as though there is progress.
In December, Tribune Company, owner of the LA Times, Baltimore Sun, and many others, filed for bankruptcy. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer is up for sale. And the New York Times is borrowing $250 million dollars at 14% interest from Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helu in order to keep the business up and running.
All I can say is, IT’S ABOUT TIME. Don’t get me wrong, we NEED the media in order to keep politicans honest and to keep citizens informed. However, long gone are the days of unbiased reporting, and the order of the day is spin. All one has to go is to look at this past Presidential Election. After all, Barack Obama has practically no track record, he stumbles when not reading from a teleprompter, his plans are practically all Democrat talking points, and yet he was elected. No, BHO did not win because of his leadership, he won because the spin from the media created a rock-star image, and to a lesser extent, he won because the Republicans fielded John McCain as their candidate.
And as we saw during the 8 years of The Crooked One, the media gladly ran cover for any negative aspect of Clinton’s administration, and bombarded us with his administration’s spin.
The liberal media has no one to blame but themselves. And hopefully, there will be unbiased outlets that will step up to take the place of the Dinosaur Media.
